Saw this on my daily feed. Thought I would share.
My personal opinion is as follows:
I don't think we should have PEOPLE on our money at all. I think we should have EVENTS or PLACES. As an example, we have the Signing of the Declaration of Independence on the back of the $2.
I would love to see other events memorialized in a similar fashion. Examples include:
Pearl Harbor, 9/11, Moon Landing, things we are proud of. Things are ashamed of. Things that need to be remembered.
I understand the desire to put these women on currency, and can intellectually agree with the concept, however I personally don't like it.
Your thoughts appreciated.

An interesting theory in regard to events rather than people on the currency. That is a great idea. The thing is that on the face side of the two dollar bill is Thomas Jefferson. If you are for removing faces from the currency, then something to replace the face side of the bill would be needed. So I will expand on your idea. Put the events from our history that should be remembered on the back of the bills. put national identifiers on the front of the bills. Independence Hall, Fort McHenry, Fort Sumter, The Chapel at the Air Force academy, The Naval Academy, West Point, Golden Gate Bridge, Four Corners, Mouint Rushmore, etc.
This would leave us with currency depicting our nations history on one side, and national pride on the other side. The added benefit is that the more detail put into these depictions, the harder it is to counterfeit the money as well.

Sgt Aaron Kennedy, I like your idea to put events on our currency, but on the back of the bill only. I do not see a need to change the face of our bills, and actually like our founding fathers displayed. It seems every time I turn around someone is trying to weed out the foundation of America. Personal believe leans towards the idea that there is a strong movement to unravel the fabric of American culture (how we became America), so that the more desired new America could surface.
I have no problem with the four women nominated for the $20.00 bill, as all clearly left there mark in U.S. history, but none of their names are on the United States Constitution.

Neither is Jackson ($20), Grant ($50), nor Lincoln ($5).

True enough! Neither are the four women! Now, lets debate the importance of each, that will fun!

Jackson left the country without a National Debt, in that he actually paid it off. If anyone actually deserves to be on our money.. a symbol of debt.. he does.

There is nothing wrong with the front of our bills. I'm for updating the backs if something must be done, but not at the additional expense to our in debt country. Redoing all the currency won't be cheap and you know where they will try to get the money from. Soon, our warriors will be told to bring their own ammo to the range or to qualify for gunnery on simnets, ucofts, or whatever they call simulators these days.
