The These are built around the S2V last and those have been my favorite boots by far. I just wish there was a little more option in them since they are a bit hot in the summer, and there is no temperate waterproof version, just a winter version with GoreTex and 200mg Thinsulate. I have not checked out the "jungle version" with the material on the toe as shown above. I wonder if they would breath more in the heat.Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made Jun 9 at 2014 7:28 PM2014-06-09T19:28:55-04:002014-06-09T19:28:55-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member149174<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Ahh the great decision...... Im sure it will take years for them to make a decision on this one.... As a Infantryman I make my living in my boots. I yet to find a Issue boot that offers both comfort and support for that matter. I truly hopes the army gets it right. If they do infact go with this design and model which appears to be the Rocky S2V which is a great boot however they get very hot in the summer. but still the Go to boot for this guy. I know there is alot of crying now of what boots are authorized I know my organization is going through that very issue. I also agree there has to be some sort of standard issue boot that works. The army has yet to come up with a solution to this problem. Now that the realease of the revised AR 670-1 has come out there are many looking at what is the standard. I also know many have purchased boots for fuction comfort and support. However, now this boot standard after much digging through the regs isnt very clear but some how a slide has shown up with what is no longer authorized and has created quite the debate. and looking across our formation 1 out of 5 have at least one pare of thes unauthorized boots which were perfectly legal up to about a month ago. Ill get off my soapbox now I have to go fine yet another pair of boots that will be with in the army standard. and I thought my wife had a lot of shoes.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Jun 9 at 2014 8:32 PM2014-06-09T20:32:52-04:002014-06-09T20:32:52-04:00SGT Ben Keen149445<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>They look pretty nice, light and cool but my question would be how much ankle support do they give?Response by SGT Ben Keen made Jun 10 at 2014 2:46 AM2014-06-10T02:46:39-04:002014-06-10T02:46:39-04:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member150604<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I have a pair myself and they are so comfortable along with my Garmonts. Other vendors, to include Bates, Danner, and Bellville, also provided a variety of boots to test. As the S3 for one of the units that conducted the test, I was informed that feedback on all boots would be aggregated by the Army, which would ultimately result in new published requirements for a standard issue boot.
