Let's just go back to BAYCB. Heck, we could even run the old "we do more before 9AM" and "Good morning 1SG!" commercials. Wouldn't even really need to re-shoot them.

Rebranding every few years is NOT the way we should go. Even if Madison Ave promises that they've got it right THIS time..... The voiceover guy doesn't have the vocal impact that a Keith David (the Navy commercial voiceover guy) has, but he wasn't bad. Marine commercials almost always kick ass, and Navy commercials are a solid second. With Army commercials, it's not always easy to tell who their target audience is.

The ads for all branches should always appeal to the younger audience, the 17 to 24-ish demographic, but I don't know if you always see that in Army commercials. I remember the 'Be all you can be' commercials, where, "We do more before 9AM, than most people do all day', and those commercials were cool. Over the last few years, they've been kinda 'ehh'. I think it is much better than the Army Strong. We are a team. By building this bond as a core value I think we are sending the right message. You shouldn't join just for you but you should be part of a team. 'Army strong' wasn't bad, but it wasn't focused enough. The 'team' commercial sums up for the most part why we serve. It's short and to the point, and it imparts a challenge. Are you good enough to make the team? It also implies that not everyone does, and that challenge draws people that otherwise might not think of joining the Army.

I joined under "Be all that you can be". That slogan that challenged you to excel, and was one of the most successful ad campaigns of all time. Obviously, this one tugs at the patriotic heartstrings. Unfortunately, it's not consistent with prior Army slogans --which were successful. If it's broke, fix it. If it ain't broke...
