MAJ Private RallyPoint Member 7324921

Massive issue and I could use some guidance please.

I'm transitioning from the Army National Guard to the Army Reserves. The process started many months ago and my state was expeditious in their processing of the paperwork as was the Army Reserve. The problem was NGB.

As a result of the attempted transition to IPPS-A, massive delays have caused me to be switched into IRR and as a result I lost my TriCare (which was my primary insurance). Financially, I'm not drilling but am able to survive without it. However, the continued delay may cause me to have a bad year. There doesn't seem to be an end in sight and no one knows what to do.

NGB doesn't seem as concerned and I've heard I'm not alone. My state has tried to assist and escalate by reaching out to NGB. However, I keep hearing that many are working from home and they can't figure out the issues with IPPS-A so I'm unable to get my orders "Fed Rec'ed" or my NGB-22.

I'm concerned a year from now that it will be the same thing. I'll still be in IRR and not a drilling Reservist. Any ideas on what I can do? Its incredible frustrating to have your career halted due someone else's issues that you can't resolve. NGB paperwork halted due to issues with system, now what? 2021-10-18T11:01:39-04:00 MAJ Private RallyPoint Member 7324921

Massive issue and I could use some guidance please.

I'm transitioning from the Army National Guard to the Army Reserves. He/She should be able to tell you not only what units and positions are available to you, but move you into one of them also. Be aware that in my day, NGB and HRC didn't communicate, so be prepared to provide all of your Guard Documentation if HRC doesn't have it. Just over 4 months later. Whew! :)

I'd think to thank the SC Army National Guard, they really were on top of things and helped me out. Not so much for NGB, perhaps it was the IPPS-A transition but my state really seemed to help.
