I feel that most of us that have made it to this level have served in some capacity as a Drill Sergeant, Recruiter or Instructor. I believe that Officers have an advantage in the fact that there are staff positions at every level as they advance. Most recently, My CSM brought up the topic of nominative and broadening assignments that are available to Senior NCO&#39;s. <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Good point, never served on a nominative staff postion, but did do Drill Sergeant. I guess its about the right time and place. Its all who you know, not what you know, in my opinion.

You can either contact your back manager to inquire about a nominative assignment or you can actual contact the nominative branch and get more information from them. I am enjoying my assignment because it’s a joint assignment so I get to work with all branches of the military. Good luck to you and I hope they can offer you something that you find fulfilling.

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I urge all NCO&#39;s to seek these assignments out! No one is going to tell you about these!! I worked at a MEPS and Recruiting, which provided much broadening and insight to what the Army&#39;s mission really is about!
