You will stay a Reserve Officer until then. The commissioning paperwork was/is more along the lines of Command, NJP, Re-enlistment type things. I did it when I made CW2, it was pretty basic and simple, didn't really change my life. I only did one re-enlistment for a great NCO I knew.
