I'm not knocking the POTUS for doing his job. But, with all the crap the Dems haven't yet done for our vets, homeless vets, and vets hospitals, I have a hard time believing Obama is sincere. They say they support veterans, but their lackluster efforts, don't impress me as "Walking The Talk". Your opinions are appreciated, but keep them civil, whether you are Pro Democrats, or not. I don't want any flame wars, please.

Hard to know POTUS' motivation for visiting the cemetery. Does he truly honor military service or is he only doing lip service? Best I can say is that it is good he visited the cemetery.

I am not knocking POTUS as I am one of his supporters, but is any politician ever really sincere, or do they just do what they do for publicity. Same as celebrities doing philanthropy work.

Wearing a leather jacket with your name embroidered over the Seal of the United States is not a symbol of service. He did not serve, his staff did not serve and his wife is only recently proud of her country - because they were fooled into electing him twice. Like many other duties he performs he does it because it's a duty. There is no comradery or sense of brotherhood. He didn't serve and it shows.

Damned if he does. Damned if he don't. Put the politics aside. If anyone, but POTUS, goes to Arlington on Veterans' Day, would he be subjected to scrutiny... for his motives? for his genuine time of reflection? What question would replace this should POTUS fail to acknowledge Veterans Day?

I talked to a veteran at LBVA. He works with homeless veterans. He said Obama has done a lot. I can forgive him for putting a padlock on the WWII memorial. The first thing he did when he and Prince Harry shut down the Government.

Every president goes to Arlington at different times. I'd reckon Memorial and Veterans day would be at the top of the lists even though Veterans day is for the living. Personally I wouldn't read to much into it, being the same questions are raised by different folks depending on who's president. Bush caught hell going to Arlington after sending troops to Iraq. Is he wrong to visit Arlington? Not in my opinion. I believe Iraq was a bad choice, but his going to pay respects to the dead is genuine.

i'm sorry but i respect the office not the man. i believe he was fulfilling a required duty not by choice but by something he had to do. his actions towards the military speaks louder than words. his failures to return salutes speaks volumes. his disarming of military personnel at the people's house speaks a lot of how much he trust our service members. again i respect the office of potus but not the illegal posser in it.

Sorry, Obama has demonstrated time and again over the past 8 years his disdain and disrespect for members of our military. I recall on video when Obama went about Marine 1 without returning the salute from the young marine stand tall at the foot of the walkway to the aircraft, Obama passed right on by without rendering a your corporal evan a nod of the head. A few seconds later Obama was back down at the foot of the walkway rendering the appropriate military salute as CInC. Wonder who was about that aircraft that send Obama back to do it right. He reminded me of a little kid when he did that.
