At this time I am not ready to cast a vote toward any cast of characters. This is the time we should be researching and learning about the potential candidates.

Walker, if I had to vote now. I want to learn more about all of them, but I see the good results in Wisconsin, I like Governors (over Sens/Reps), and I want new blood and new ideas.

I will make a prediction right here, right now. I see Jeb Bush is at 0% and I believe the majority of people who will vote republican do not support Jeb Bush, HOWEVER those in control of the GOP like Karl Rove will force him down our throats and when he loses it will be blamed on the radical right wing tea party people. My other prediction is the blaming will be done by John Boehner and Mitch McConnell.

So says the "Amazing Karnac" knowing the younger members here will not know what I mean.

Of the choices listed and as of this moment, I would support Dr. Ben Carson.

Gov Bush & Hucakbee's policies are far too "centrist" for my tastes/beliefs. Sen Paul has a solid core of policies, but has the occasional out-lyer that causes me significant concern. I don't know a great deal about Gov Walker, though will acknowledge his stance against public sector unions is an extremely positive point in his favor.

I like Dr. Carson's common sense approach to addressing challenges and I especially like that he is a successful citizen-businessman without years of political baggage (i.e. debts to special interests). I'm also convinced that solving the health care insurance crisis (i.e. the Affordable Care Act) in this country is critical to our economic prosperity and Dr. Carson is uniquely qualified of the candidates to weave a pathway forward.

I think both Allen West and Ted Cruz belong on this list as viable candidates. Many folks on the companion "vote democrat" thread have talked about fears of the Republican candidate going to the far right - I'll just say, I'm not sure it's possible to get any farther right than I would like the country to be.

Jeb and Mike--establishment so no go, also too old (not an age problem as a generation problem, I've discussed it elsewhere).

Ben--Would be great--2nd Amendment stance is worrisome, mildly, but also too old.

Paul--Would be great, but I don't think Senator is an appropriate prior job for President--too much compromise and not enough leading. Also, I find Libertarian foreign policy troubling. (Of the 16 senators that have become President I find only three to have been passable and none great--Jackson, Madison, and JQ Adams--they also had extensive other experience before the Senate. Only three went directly from the Senate to the White House--Harding, Kennedy and Obama and the first one died and the second one was killed before their first term was up. I'd also be troubled by Ted Cruz--if these guys want to be President--they are young enough to go be a Governor somewhere first.

Walker--Excellent. I like everything I know so far.

If I had to choose one of those it would be Rand Paul. Now, if Huntsman were to run again, he'd have my vote in a heartbeat (unless there was a better democratic choice of course).

Scott Walker has done everything that the establishment Republican Party has avoided: Addressing issues head on, sticking to conservative fiscal principals, and rejecting the idea that more government involvement is the answer. His performance as Governor is a testament to what can happen, even in a traditionally blue state, when a conservative leads conservatively, which is to say, constitutionally.

Since I have to choose Rep or Dem in my state regardless of my actual wishes and since the Libertarian Candidate will be sure to alienate 99% of the voters I will choose Rand Paul as the candidate most likely to represent my views...at this time.

None of the above. I would love to see Senator Ted Cruz run in 2016. He has proved time and time again that he has our best interests in mind. He's a firm believer in upholding The Constitution and is what this country needs, in my opinion, to start fixing what the current administration has and is pissing away.
