I do every now and again, but it is not because I want to know where I am in the ranking. I check because I like to see who else is in the top, and see who else I might be able to connect with.

It is not that I only connect with those who are top contributors, but if they are contributing that much, they will more than likely be able to lend good insight, advice, etc.

I check but not to see my ranking I check to see who's at the top and look at what they are doing to stay there. This page has the ability to be great. And the wealth of knowledge and experience to go around forever so why not embrace it.

Points are an added bonus to the opportunity to speak my mind about something I feel strongly or inject a bit of humor (I think it's funny...) And stay a bit connected with the all encompassing military community. I read a lot of discussions but don't contribute because something has been perfectly answered in my opinion or so many topics I know nothing about come up. Steep learning curve due to the overwhelming Army and Marine presence and those that have recently served as well as Vietnam and Korean vets. I am here to stay as long as I continue to get sucked in to discussions. So thanks all for being here and letting me contribute my 2 cents.

I voted occasionally. I used to check the leader board more often, but I don't have the time to do it all. Now I check it mainly to see who's going to pass me by next. CPT Private RallyPoint Member, come on by.

As someone else noted ... I think the creators of this system are geniuses: Put a bunch of competitive military and former military folks together with a points-based system, and you have the formula for success.

I check it as often as I check my sectors of fire in my patrol bases. It is on par with Security with the principals of patrol. In the great words of Drake, "I started from the the bottom but now we're here." I think we all know how the rest of it goes.

I absolutely don't check the "leader board" and really couldn't care less. I am, based on most of the above posts, in the minority who believe that the leader board is significantly contributing to the ever increasing number of posts in the relm of what's your favorite color? Or who's your favorite super hero? No, I don't need all of those who love posting these types of discussions to avail me of there genuine worthiness...it's just my opinion. I believe if we did away with the ranking system instantly all of those types of posts would immediately vanish. As it is...it's all good...I just scroll on by... :)

I have no idea how to even find the leaderboard. I use android tablet for RP, is this another of those things you can only access from Windows or Mac platforms?

No matter how much activity I do my points don't seem to move. Have been sitting around 250k for well over a year. Yet, the top 10 average the same amount of points each *month*. I just don't understand how the influence score is in any way meaningful.
