If you are flying into Ramstein, there are Army handlers that will direct you once you exit the aircraft, and buses waiting to take you to where you need to go.

That is what I have observed. You should probably contact your new unit for details about taking leave right away. Hopefully a soldier stationed there can give you better information. I have no idea what there is to do there, other than the Volksmarks (people's walks), but she always took tons of photos during those. Oh, and Oktoberfest, too. When I worked for the Army at the Ramstein Gateway Reception Center the policy was that members using leave would not be signed in through the reception center. This leave form was to be signed by the losing unit. Space-A bus transport to the duty location would be granted if available. Otherwise member could return to Ramstein to be signed-in. A return date would be needed to ensure member is allocated a seat on the future bus transport. However, things change, so to all please use your sponsor for any PCS related questions and if your sponsor is non-responsive contact the Ramstein Gateway Reception Center or the gaining unit POC on your orders.
