While most of our regulation Distinctive Uniform Insignia&#39;s (unit crests) will have two prongs, I am not familiar with the VDF&#39;s heraldry items. Please post a picture of the back of your unit crest so we can have an informed look. Also the front for our curiosity. <br />Thank you. We&#39;re not a Federal component, we are the reserve of the reserve so to speak, ( State Forces) so we have to obtain things somewhat differently. Not many of us even have them at all as our usual standard everyday uniform is the ACU. Our unit does not generally order these items, nor even issue these items. The VDF was not responsible for having these pins made and they had to be obtained through private resources because we are all volunteer. Not many of us even have the items in the first place. I will certainly discuss that at the time for the next batch of them to be ordered and I appreciate the input. It may have just been an oversight when they got made, as so few of us have them. I do not presently have a photo of the piece as it is on my uniform, however the prong is centrally located on the piece. Enclosed is a pic of the heraldry. It doesn&#39;t look bad at the moment. I do have some ideas to resolve the issue, though I am looking for something that I have not thought of yet, which is why I asked. I do however agree 2 prongs would be better served. I&#39;m just trying to &quot;resolve&quot; a small little issue. Being a &quot;low man on the totem pole&quot; I generally do not get to have a lot of input on many things. This is the crest though. It&#39;s not a &quot;criticism&quot; as I&#39;m not here to do any of that. I&#39;m just trying to take a situation and make it work. Thank you for your input and I appreciate it greatly.<br />V/r Response by Mike Burke made Mar 15 at 2018 4:27 AM 2018-03-15T04:27:51-04:00 2018-03-15T04:27:51-04:00 MSG Jack Wengrosky 3656112 <div class="images-v2-count-1"><div class="content-picture image-v2-number-1" id="image-238878"> <div class="social_icons social-buttons-on-image"> <a href='https://www.facebook.com/sharer/sharer.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.rallypoint.com%2Fanswers%2Fon-the-asu-how-do-you-keep-the-distinctive-uniform-insignia-from-spinning-in-place%3Futm_source%3DFacebook%26utm_medium%3Dorganic%26utm_campaign%3DShare%20to%20facebook' target="_blank" class='social-share-button facebook-share-button'><i class="fa fa-facebook-f"></i></a> <a href="https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?text=On+the+ASU%2C+how+do+you+keep+the+Distinctive+Uniform+Insignia+from+spinning+in+place%3F&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.rallypoint.com%2Fanswers%2Fon-the-asu-how-do-you-keep-the-distinctive-uniform-insignia-from-spinning-in-place&amp;via=RallyPoint" target="_blank" class="social-share-button twitter-custom-share-button"><i class="fa fa-twitter"></i></a> <a href="mailto:?subject=Check this out on RallyPoint!&body=Hi, I thought you would find this interesting:%0D%0AOn the ASU, how do you keep the Distinctive Uniform Insignia from spinning in place?%0D%0A %0D%0AHere is the link: https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/on-the-asu-how-do-you-keep-the-distinctive-uniform-insignia-from-spinning-in-place" target="_blank" class="social-share-button email-share-button"><i class="fa fa-envelope"></i></a> </div> <a class="fancybox" rel="37f283100350395c2924cd3de048a707" href="https://d1ndsj6b8hkqu9.cloudfront.net/pictures/images/000/238/878/for_gallery_v2/4c66772c.jpg"><img src="https://d1ndsj6b8hkqu9.cloudfront.net/pictures/images/000/238/878/large_v3/4c66772c.jpg" alt="4c66772c" /></a></div></div>We had those in the D.C. band and I solved the issue using a piece of Velcro stuck to the back. Use the hook side and it will keep the crest from spinning without ruining the jacket.
