Above Earth designations give nothing but tension.

Reaching such a height deserves retention.;

At the highest level, designations are meaningless.

Designations are meaningful, even at the highest level, because it is necessary to distinguish MD from the CEO and the Board Chairman; who drives business.

Interesting phrasing of the question. It took me a while to decide what you were asking. As for designations, someone has to be in charge and responsible for the final decisions.
