Order of the Marechaussee

Each branch of Army occupations has an award dedicated to only those within its MOS. The order of the Marechaussee is for military police. I have never seen any soldier outside the schoolhouse receive this honor. Is this common for other MOS's as well?

It is. We have the same type of award. Only granted to verified members of the Intelligence community.
You have to be recognized and recommended to recivie the Knowlton Award

It is granted to MP Soldiers outside the schoolhouse. The proper application, recommendation & fees must be submitted to the Regiment for consideration. It's not seen a lot because the minimum time of service to the MP Corps is 10 years in order to be considered. I am currently recommending my previous company commander.

Most, if not all, proponents have this same type of thing. MANY outside USAMPS have earned this order, though you won't really know unless you go to an MP-related function as you'd only see it on folks in ASU's or hanging in their offices or on their "I love me" walls. Fun fact, this is not authorized on DA photos!

I know several who have received this award who are not, nor have ever been in the schoolhouse. You could check the website and see the requirements to recommend and as long as the nominee is approved they could receive the award without ever working at the schoolhouse.

Yes actually the Infantry began nominations for this award back in 1996. It’s called the Order of the St Maurice. I see military police is still trying to be like the Infantry. Lol! Keep calling yourself glorified Infantrymen and telling yourself whatcha wanna hear.

Not Personal Management MOS. We were part of AG Corps, guess that was enough recognition for ‘pencil pushers”!

No, The Engineer Regiment is pretty good at recognizing Soldiers in the field with the DeFleury medal in the Steel and Bronze levels. The Silver is less frequent in the field, I only remember seeing MSGs, SGMs and Field grade officers receiving it, and the Gold is only issued to one person a year.
The Field Artillery was also good to us when I was at fort Sill, our Engineer company supported the Post, The training BDE and the Corps Artillery BDEs there, and they allowed us to nominate a Soldier every year for the Order of St. Barbara.
