He mentioned he has known some members who have done it. Apparently you don't get paid so I guess you just get credit or something? Does anyone know what type of orders that would be and how they work? Orders for volunteering? 2015-05-20T00:13:29-04:00 SSgt Private RallyPoint Member 681900

My Civil Air Patrol Wing Commander mentioned a type of orders I could be put on as a member of the Air Guard while volunteering for a Civil Air Patrol activity since CAP falls under command of the USAF. Way back in the day, I would put people on them to come in for off-drill meetings & etc.

Again, not a personnel type, but you get actual orders, and somewhere on them they will state "for points only" or some such. You get NO net pay or allowances for the period, but it does count as retirement points for figuring good years as well as for calculating eventual retirement compensation. The other thing you gain from it is that you are in an "on orders" status should you get injured at the duty or traveling to/from.
Response by COL Vincent Stoneking made May 20 at 2015 8:42 AM 2015-05-20T08:42:02-04:00 2015-05-20T08:42:02-04:00 2015-05-20T00:13:29-04:00
