Alan Holmes, an eighth-grade student in Gresham, Ore., still remembers the day his older brother returned home after serving in Iraq with the Marines.
“I was proud of him,” Holmes told ABC affiliate KATU. “I remember the day he came home and I was just so happy. I was little but I still remember it, he made me happy.”
As he got older, Holmes’s pride turned into patriotism. He wanted to demonstrate that patriotism last week by wearing a T-shirt to school that included a design memorializing fallen soldiers and bearing the words “Standing for those who stood for us,”

This is a ridiculous example of 0% common sense and 100% political correctness. The school administration needs to be schooled in this case of what a fallen warrior stand looks like.

So two thoughts.
1: I despise zero tolerance polices and laziness in leaders it breeds.
2: I'm assume from what i have read and what i know... this was a simple poor choice on the kids parents part. There is a black and white, easy to read and understand school policy that the child's parents read, and signed verified they would follow. They knowingly violated that policy by allowing thier child wear that shirt. Had they felt strongly about the issue, they should have gone to school leaders (been shot down by zealot zero tolerance idiot "leaders" ) then to the school board (been shot down by zealot zero tolerance idiot "leaders" ) then to state leadership and made it a public policy issue. Instead through apathy or intentionally misstep then let thier child run afoul of the clear school rule.

If that OR teen had THIS picture on his shirt with the words "We love Our President and stand by him"... would he have been suspended?

He won't get an invite, he just isn't Muslim enough. I said it. And it pains me to say it, as i have Muslim friends... The fact of the matter is that this Presidency is a farce, I can state that as I do not serve under the President- he is no longer my Commander in Chief. Who builds a clock and puts it in a briefcase like a bomb??? The kid should have a swift ass-kicking, would have if my parents were his.
It's hard to not come off as racist towards Muslims and prejudiced towards Islam, but there seems to be a push to help spread Islam, more so than any other religion. You see it in schools, and you see it in the news. I truly do not understand it. I do not support any religions, as I believe them all to be man-made. Why can't people keep their religions to themselves?
