While I had entertained the idea of rehoming them once they were old enough, I am also looking at helping my fellow veterans who may require a service dog to help cope with PTSD. I tried reaching out to Dogs 4 Warriors, but all calls went to voice mail. My message has yet to be returned. Still, I am interested in finding out if there are similar organizations or if someone knows another way of contacting Dogs 4 Warriors that may be able to help me. The puppies won't be ready to leave their mother until mid-October so there is still time. Thanks for any advice or assistance. Sooner or later depending on breed. That way you can work on getting the dog cued into your specific needs. Subsequent to that, a qualified medical professional might see the need for service dog designation but that's a different matter.

Too many vets just get a dog and then whine about establishments not being welcoming. There's a path to get legal. Certified Therapy Dogs are not covered by ADA but I've never been anywhere that Beckham wasn't welcome. The difference is the CTD is designated for work with others while a service dog is for you. Regardless, proper training and designation goes a long way to years of mutual caring and less hassle on Main Street. CAPT Kevin B.
