Other than camera work, what else does a 25V do?

Hello everyone, I hope all is still well. My question for today is to the 25V’s of the Army and veterans that served in this MOS. Someone once suggested this career to me when they knew of my interest in film, but I couldn’t help but see this as a job more for a journalist that recorded things. If my original assumptions are wrong, then my questions are as follows:

1. Other than filming/photography and editing, what other jobs do you do and do you or someone else do the directing, talking points, screenwriting/planning, etc.?

2. How likely are you to get into the film/television industry with this MOS on your resume?

3. Any other MOS that you recommend that would make it easier than this one for someone to be able to get a foothold into the film industry?

I have heard that this is mostly a camera person kind of job, but I was just wondering if there are other things as well that a 25V does. Hope you guys are all doing well.

This MOS isn’t going to be a substitute for film school but it will definitely expose you to content creation, filming, editing and all of that.

25V will not get you into the film industry. The Army contracts out most high end film content. AFN did make shows in the 1990's in Europe. My favorite assignment was in a PAO unit at Ft Lewis & then with CPD for a couple of months. Had a lot of great duty stations like Italy & Germany!

I know a few that have left the military after this job and are working on film or television. I did for a bit and now teach it. But I also know people that just where in the military not as a 25v or other branch equivalent and also work in the film industry.
