Our country is slowly being destabilized by the "National" leadership - which directly affects DOD/the Military!

So, where does our military go from here, the Russian Bear is now knocking at the door with flights of nuclear capable aircraft flying sorties in the Pacific, Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico. Who know what is beneath the waters off the coast of North America. ISIS blatantly attacks 3 sailors in Turkey a NATO Ally and supposedly safe place for our service members to walk the streets. China has hacked into the economic and military cyber infrastructure of this country; they have stolen technology and now have a Stealth fighter. Why have the people not spoken out against this administration and congress. It is not only The Presidents fault but Congress is to blame as well. Today The President plans to bypass congress using what is called “Executive Powers” to stop deportations of illegal Immigrants. Well, if he thought half as much about the citizens of The United States and a balanced budget, as he does about deportations of illegal Immigrants maybe the wolf would not be knocking at the door.

The National Government’s inability to develop and follow a budget might be the biggest security risk to this nation has ever faced. The drawdown of the military services, the cancellation of technologies that enhances survivability and lethality on the battlefield (Air, Sea or Land) and the decrease in overseas presence in strategic locations has slowly and surely caused a losing of relevancy economically, politically and as a superpower. If you don’t think so, answer this why have we let an ally be invaded by Russia, why are Russian Planes flying in and around NATO and US Airspaces, why is ISIS a relevant threat that grew from an enemy left behind and why does China feel it has the right to threaten our allies of the Pacific. Why, because we do not retain the backbone to follow through and protect our allies or our interests overseas. Instead the President wants to use his executive power to protect those who have entered our country illegally and waste resources to do so.
I say our country is slowly being destabilizing because the "National" leadership - which directly affects DOD/the Military is weak, indecisive, and has the wrong priorities!

Sir, I can't argue with some of your points. I did hear a report on NPR today about the Russian flights. They claimed the flights were SOP and nothing to be terribly concerned about. I know, I know, it was NPR, but the report claimed that the Russians (and others) have flown similar flights surrounding international events.

And I certainly agree with you about the immigration issues our country faces.

If we can include the House, the Senate, and the President in "national" leadership, then I agree that things must improve. Instead of constant bickering and threats of "executive action," they should all cooperate and compromise for the good of the country, regardless of political party or ideology. If they can do that, things will get better. And, on the good side, we are still the greatest nation on the earth, despite all our imperfections.

Scott,
I include all three branches of the Government. I have had my fill of this bi-partisanship and not getting anything accomplished. I also do not like the fact that The President has publically stated he will bypass Congress to get his agenda into law. It is time to take care of our own and expel those who enter illegally.

Agreed, sir. I think the President is in a tough spot as well. He promised his immigration-activist constituency that he would do something before the end of the year if the Congress doesn't act. Now he's stuck between that promise and the incoming Republican controlled Congress. That said, I agree that there is way too much partisanship amongst all our leaders. I wish they could put the good of the country ahead of all else. I think that's why we elected them, after all.
