Overseas Bars on the ASU

What is the rule on wearing the overseas bars on the right sleeve of the ASU i have multiple deployments overseas 2 to afghanistan and 1 to bosnia and that total time equal to 27 months BOG so how many bars should I have? Any help would be appricated

1 bar for every 6 months overseas

Your time in Bosina won't count towards those bars. Only time in a combat theater.

Short answer is Bosnia does not count; Afghanistan does. Count partial months as whole months for the purposes of the month calculation.
Every six months counts as one bar. Fractions carry over towards subsequent bars, should you find yourself in a qualifying contingency operation in the future.

As an NCO have you never consulted AR 670-1? Some of the questions I've been reading lately are ridiculous. Ask your senior leadership and chain of command.
