PCS help for a PCS from Fort Hood to Hawaii

I have been in the Army now for four years and recently re-enlisted for another 4 years. I was given the PCS option for Hawaii and was wondering if I could get some tips on what to expect when I get there from people who have been to Hawaii recently or general tips to help ease the move for myself and my family from Fort Hood to Hawaii.

If you have pets, look into the FAVN and quarantine. If you have orders, look into housing wait lists. Shipping a second vehicle will cost a bunch of money. Figure out where you will stay when you arrive. You are authorized up to 60 days at a TLA approved hotel.

Cost of living is high; sock some money away now if you can. Save all the extra money the Army gives you that you can. Have your sponsor see about housing on post now!
