While must of us are having fun, playing outside, barbecuing and enjoying the heat, lots of SM are moving from one post to another.
Last year, when I got to Ft. Meade, 1st Unit Station and 1st time living in the states, I was surprised of all the stuff people leave in the curb. I started seeing "Curb Alerts" in FB pages, people leaving every kind of items for people to go and pick it up. First week I got my house, my leaving neighbor left me his washer and dryer, FOR FREE. Weeks later I got a barely used nice BBQ and days later other neighbor gave me a full propane cylinder, which I've used almost every week. Other leaving neighbor left a huge bird cage, he told me that it was worth $600.
What is the best thing you've got from a "Curb Alert"? Baker 820062

There is a webpage that my father in law uses to get local free stuff, it works really well and it is not CL but a thing called freecycle. I personally have not gained much from CURB alerts, however in Japan, each year at the calendar new year, they usually empty out all the purchases from the previous year for tax write offs. Got plenty of new in the box electronics and kitchen supplies. The best sidewalk curb alerts were in Taji and Kandahar however. TVs and Fridges were awesome. Leaving behind those things were awesome for others and no issue, interesting post. Response by CW5 Sam R.
