Trip takes 3-4 days, and bypasses Canada altogether. Might be fun. Suggest you look into it if something like that would interest you.Response by SN Greg Wright made Feb 14 at 2018 3:37 PM2018-02-14T15:37:44-05:002018-02-14T15:37:44-05:00LTC Private RallyPoint Member3354440<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Yes. You will need to go online and develop a driving plan. Your per day driving will be limited to a few hundred miles. You will need to register this trip on I think it is called "trip Tix". You will need a vehicle inspection to include a license and proof of insurance and lastly the permission of your garrison. Drives over a certain distance from your installation require a permit from the Command team. You will also need to notify the receiving unit of your travel plans. While driving your are usually on duty as it is part of your PCS.Response by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 14 at 2018 4:20 PM2018-02-14T16:20:52-05:002018-02-14T16:20:52-05:00MSG John Duchesneau3359196<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>From what I understand of the modern Army - you need to have authorization to drive more than 10 miles from post. My family did need passports, but other than that there was nothing else required. I have never heard of a CO authorizing a particular type of travel.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 16 at 2018 2:05 AM2018-02-16T02:05:44-05:002018-02-16T02:05:44-05:002018-02-13T15:22:57-05:00
