You are a junior enlisted soldier. You are, in your case, a 25U. You know what grade you are and your MOS. That is going to be your job. Very little is going to change for your day to day work when you PCS to a new unit. Everything that you might actually want to know about the experience can be found on the internet (e.g. things to do in the area, housing, entertainment, etc). What do you think is going on when you PCS? You're suddenly going to be thrown behind the yoke of an abrams and told to lay siege to an ISIS stronghold??? No! You're a commo guy and you will continue to do commo guy esque tasks. This same statement can be edited to hold true for EVERY single soldier who has or will ask what to expect when PCSing to a new unit. In your case, you may be authorized to wear a stetson on Fridays at 1st Cav. Last I was there, they also made E4s and below wear stupid black acorns on their stetsons. Count on vehicle PMCS every Monday in the motorpool and hanging around doing layouts, inventories, and seldomly doing your actual MOS.
