I'm not sure what to expect. Also does anyone at Riley recommend finding housing off-post by Milford? I have found some nice homes but I just want to make sure it won't be a nightmare every day coming through the gate. <br />Also, since I will be going TDY en route to Gordon then Riley after I graduate, how soon can my wife and I get a house? It'd be nice to have it squared away while I am school instead of waiting until I in-process the unit. Thanks. As for ft riley, If you plan on living off post you can check AHRN it's a very resourceful website for finding housing off post and I would recommend Junction city if you plan on living off post the town of aroun 20,000 is bordered to ft riley and access to the post is fast, also right now there is so much construction on post you'd either way be looking at traffic, there a lot of on post housing and more under construction, a new hospital being built also the added to the commissary which is the biggest in the army about the size of walmart. Lots of outdoor activities, I wouldn't look for a place beyond junction city or Ogden(run down town) if you are limited on fuel usage. If so, that mean's you're looking at 267th Signal Company. Don't even guess what unit you'll be in until you get there. As a 25N you can end up pretty much anywhere. I lived in Junction City and liked it a lot. Its a bit of a drive to get to any kind of real night life (not that manhattan really qualifies as a night life but still) but it is nice and quite and easy access to pretty much anywhere on base. I was there for 13 months and was given a house but turned it down because I was only going to be there for 11 more months... I would recommend fining a place in Manhattan. Alot nicer closer then Milford but the trade off was the snow on the road going into ogden in the winter makes it hazardous to drive.
