PCSing to Fort Riley this month (2nd BDE). Who’s deployed/ who is deploying? Any info about good spots to live with a dog off-post?

Off post apartments dog friendly are the bluffs or quinton point. They’re the most popular with service members. Houses for rent can be a little pricey. Junction City is right outside post and is usually pretty quiet. Ogden is on the other side of post and it is very small.
If you like the night life you might want to live close to Manhattan that’s where K-State is so lots of college kids and bars/clubs/ etc. as far as who is deployed? You can find that on the Fort Riley website from the PAO. 2BDE goes to the field a lot

Ft. Riley is dog sensitive, it depends on the breed of the dog, pit bulls are not allowed on post but boxers are. there are kennels off post that can help you and can locate one through the pet services on post. If you are on post there are companies that will rent fencing around the yard but is only open to housing. Picerne Housing Association can help with this.

Ft. Riley is a surprisingly nice place to end up. I was dragged here kicking and screaming many (cough, cough) years ago and am still in the area.
Off post will be a bit pricey, it always has been, but there is still a lot out there. Check the classified ads in the Junction City Daily Union to get an idea.
If you like sports you're in a great spot. K-State plays good DI football, basketball; there us an NBA team just to the south in OK City and of course the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. Most all will offer good deals on tickets to military.
