PCSing to Ft Riley (25D) https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/pcsing-to-ft-riley-25d <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>So I am PCSing to Ft Riley after I complete 25D training, I am curious as to when I will be assigned to a unit and if anyone can let me know how things will work around there. If sponsors are a big thing there then that will be extremely helpful. I know I won&#39;t be there for a while as I don&#39;t graduate 25D until December but I am just trying to get a jump on things and begin planning for myself and my family.<br /><br />Just found out that the plan is for me to go to 2ABCT, not sure where exactly but if anyone has any information as to the mission for 25D Cyber Network Defender on location I would greatly appreciate it. Also, if you are not sure as to what the MOS is or on what we get trained on I will happily provide information. I had to stay for 18 days in the replacement company barracks. You have the opportunity to talk to your sponsor everyday during sponsorship time it's 1630-1700. You go through sharp and mrt training like all day there ha. Bus rides to the dfac. Kinda sucks. Once you arrive and depending on the schedule/ platoon you're in you will have about 10 days to in-process. After that you will be assigned to a unit in 1st ID. If there's anything else you may need, send me a message as I'll help you out in any way I can. Hope this helps you out some. Do seniors and officers get shoved through? When I got to stewart it only took a day or two because I was able to inprocess everything on my own instead of the typical joe runaround CW3 Private RallyPoint Member Tue, 12 May 2015 16:14:48 -0400 2015-05-12T16:14:48-04:00 Response by CSM Michael Evans made May 12 at 2015 6:04 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/pcsing-to-ft-riley-25d?n=662978&urlhash=662978 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>SGT Scheller, Your not on assignment to 1ABCT, as of yet. I got here in September of last year. The way they do it here, especially Aviation side. As soon as they recieved who is coming to the BDE, thats when they figured out what BN and what Company they're going to assinged. Then the BN and the company will contact you to make sure when you sign in the Replacement and when you will be arrived. If you and your family decided to leave on post housing, you can go to their webside and fill the application up that way your name will be on the list. If you don't have orders to a specific brigade/unit you will be assigned one usually the first day or two of in-processing. You should have a sponsor before you get here, but usually they try can contact you over your army email. During in-processing your sponsor should do a face to face with you at least once. You can request 10 days TDY from your commander to try and move your family assuming you are married. It's your commanders discretion on when or if you get those days. Usually it depends on what the unit is doing. I've been at Fort Riley for 5.5 years, it's great for outdoor/sportsman like activities. The community and area are nice. Stayed out 17 months, re-enlisted, change MOS, and still ended up back at Ft Riley. Your actual unit will be assigned at the replacement detachment while you inprocess, and that will depend on what units have needs for your MOS at that time. It has shopping malls and franchise dinner places. It is home of the KSU Wildcats and rent can be a little high. Junction City is adjacent to the Post. There are not many businesses and you DO NOT WANT TO LIVE BY THE BUSINESS DISTRICT. Look a couple miles out of that area. I wish you and your family safe travel and a pleasant stay at Ft Riley.
