Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm currently a SPC, 12Y Geospatial Engineer and would "likely" be going into the GPC unit already there (if it still is, I've been told it moved) or the USAR Corps of Engineers. No pin-points yet. Again any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!</p> PCSing to Germany (Wiesbaden) 2013-10-01T06:39:39-04:00 SPC Christopher Salustro 649 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div><p>Hello all,</p><p> </p><p>I'm heading to Wiesbaden, Germany this coming Summer and I know I'm early, but am looking for information out there about the post, unit information, housing (married with 1 child and 2 mid-sized dogs), and also any info on the Command Sponsorship program not already readily available.</p><p> </p><p>I've done some research but am looking for the little things as well. We have 200+ RallyPoint members there now, and you should use this link to see who they are and connect with them:  <a href="https://www.rallypoint.com/duty_stations/326-wiesbaden-germany">https://www.rallypoint.com/duty_stations/326-wiesbaden-germany</a><br /></div><div><br></div><div>On this page, you can also see Past Members who have previously been assigned at Wiesbaden, and also Future Members who, like you, will also be going to Wiesbaden in the future.</div><div><br></div><div>You can also "sort" what you see on this page by Rank and other criteria -- in case you'd prefer to connect with members closer to your Pay Grade, versus O-6s and E-9s :-)</div><div><br></div><div>...although I have found senior officers and NCOs to be incredibly helpful in this RallyPoint network.</div><div><br></div><div>Just write back if you have anymore questions!</div><div><br></div><div>Best of luck,</div><div>Aaron</div><div class="pta-link-card"><br /><div class="pta-link-card-content"><br /><div class="pta-link-card-title"><a target="_blank" href="https://www.rallypoint.com/duty_stations/326-wiesbaden-germany">Wiesbaden, Germany | RallyPoint</a></div><br /><div class="pta-link-card-description">Join members of Wiesbaden, Germany on RallyPoint, home of 5th SIG Cmd, 66th MI BDE, 1st MI, 2nd MI, 24th MI</div><br /></div><br /><div style="clear:both;"></div><br /><div class="pta-box-hide"></div><br /></div> Response by CPT Aaron Kletzing made Oct 1 at 2013 10:20 AM 2013-10-01T10:20:26-04:00 2013-10-01T10:20:26-04:00 CW4 Private RallyPoint Member 658 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am a 125D Geospatial Engineer, You will be in our unit (60th EN DET) GPC, email at [login to see] and or send me your email and we will ensure you get an answer to all your questions, we are here for you.  Please send me your email feel free to inbox me, lookig forward to meeting you. Also being a NEO Warden I learned that your dogs will be destroyed if a real evacuation is ever called, your POV isnt yours at all and will be left with the promise of reimbursement that never will come because of some Eusera regulation. The same goes with your house hold goods, you will be told they will meet up with you back stateside but in reality they will be dropped in a warehouse and sold to local nationals for a profit to the Military and you again will have reimbursement hassles from the military and wind up only getting a fraction of what the actual replacement will cost. Back t the POV (privately owned vehicle). 1st of all you have to have permission from your commander to even have one, whats not said is that they would "like " you to have a full tank at all times so they can use your POV to transport personnel and then abandon said POV. Also there has always been controversy as to the actual POV status. A soldier was late to a formation at his motor pool in Bauhmholder, it was an alert, so he threw all his gear minus his weapon in the trunk. When he got to said Motor Pool some bored NCO saw him take his "gear" out of his trunk and reported him for allegedly transporting military gear in his POV. It went to trial and the court ruled that because his POV is really Military property and he hadnt transported anything sensitive, all charges were dropped. I never fully understood any of it. Many service members dont know about that and end up shipping an older car from the US then they pass the chance of saving a couple of grand on their new car. If you need help or have questions about this please feel free to contact me.
