I am on orders currently to 65th MED BDE. Does anyone know how long it takes to get a sponsor from 65TH MED BDE? How will we know what unit we will be going to in 65th MED BDE? I was stationed with HHB, Eighth Army before. Can I please get some additional information?

Currently here in Korea. 65th MED BDE liason at in processing will gather all 65th in yongsan and give will give pinpoint orders to personnel. At that point you will find out what areas you will be. Then they will contact your assigned unit to pick you up. That's usually how it works.

What is your report date? If it's within 90 days, you should have received something from a sponsor by now.

Usually, when you submit your 5434 (sponsorship form) to get your orders, it should then go out to your gaining unit. I will be honest, though...sometimes the system isn't very good at providing sponsors for our younger Soldiers, which is the wrong answer.

I already have my orders in hand. I have seen the sponsor not work for some and then have been great for others.

Sponsorship program here is not that great. You will be arriving at a very busy time in March. I can email you all the training needs so you can be ahead of the power curve.

As far as where you will be working it can be anywhere. We are so short 68W so who knows where you'll be.

I was at 65th BDE 2010-2012. It was my first duty station (I ended up in Waegwan). We had some of the best leadership and Soldiers which made it very memorable. Hope you enjoy Korea as well.
