Pentagon chief Mattis defends his reversal on Space Force

To me the creation of a separate and unified space force as a military branch made a lot of senses CW5 Jack Cardwell. It reminded me of the efforts to consolidate the intelligence agencies early this century.
1. Each military service has high-range missiles and missile defense capabilities and broader air defense capabilities. I expect the sea based and ground based air defense capabilities and anti-missile capabilities will be retained by the US Navy and US Army.
2. I expect that space force will have responsibility for Star Wars technologies, offensive and defense space based capabilities, missile shield technology capability, NORAD, interface with NSA and all training, personnel and materiel development associated with Space Force....
