But when you try to turn a workout program in to a self defense course, you are delegitimizing both! If you want to get in shape, DO CROSSFIT! If you want to defend yourself from an attacker, TAKE A SELF DEFENSE COURSE. But don't make shit up off the fly and force feed the masses of CrossFit fiends this BS! CrossFit Defense is a joke! Just like any other excersice routine you get what you put in. If you want to try to kill yourself without working up to it first then it'll do damage. Example: To vary at organized PT, the person in charge decides to do a Cross Fit session and leads with an advace routine and attempts to force everyone to do it his or her way without modifications. That will hurt, maybe even injure. But doing the opposite would help introduce Soldiers to others forms for acheiving fitness goals and potentially get them to enjoy it a little more. I lost 36lbs in the past 20 months. Before that I still passed and met my PT and Weight standards. But my lifestyle was horribly lacking meaningful physical activity and decent nutrition. One of the things I adapted to my own time fitness schedule was to work in some Cross Fit excersices along with the standard Push/Sit up, cardio and weight training. It made it more interesting and helped build muscle groups that normally would be ignored with plain weights and PRT due to time or whatever other excuses we can come up with. Cross Fit for me is a good thing. Maybe not for PRT, as the purist may suggest, but for you as an individual struggling to better and maybe take away some of the boring out of get fit.Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 16 at 2014 4:54 AM2014-04-16T04:54:26-04:002014-04-16T04:54:26-04:00CPT Private RallyPoint Member103774<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div><p>I thought about putting up links from The Onion and Cracked.com to add a little spice to this but figured that would just be cruel. At the end of the day its all the same junk. They need to ban PRT while they are at it. Well thats my rant.<br />This is what i dont understand about people in the military. it just takes a couple of people who dont know what they are doing and know limits that ruin things for everyone.<br />Its just like trying to ban pre workouts becuase some Soldiers took it before a PT and passed or something like that.<br />How about this, If you dont know what you are doing, do your own research first before you jump head first into something your body isnt used to. <br />Where does the Pentagon get its information from to come up with banning certain things? Grief about they take the lead and start sending people to "certification" class or something and start filtering them in the military so people can be properly trained.<br />Heck privates get hurt/fractures in Basic and AIT and they havent banned or changed PRT yet. And yes i was AIT PSG when PRT was the PT of choice and they still were getting hurt.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 28 at 2014 11:47 AM2014-04-28T11:47:54-04:002014-04-28T11:47:54-04:00SGT Shaul Funt387910<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>SGM<br /><br />The best entery of the dayResponse by SGT Shaul Funt made Dec 26 at 2014 11:20 PM2014-12-26T23:20:55-05:002014-12-26T23:20:55-05:00SGT Shaul Funt387915<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>God forbid....individual thoughtsResponse by SGT Shaul Funt made Dec 26 at 2014 11:24 PM2014-12-26T23:24:17-05:002014-12-26T23:24:17-05:00SSG (ret) William Martin387919<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I took this seriously until I saw "duffle blog" lol.Response by SSG (ret) William Martin made Dec 26 at 2014 11:29 PM2014-12-26T23:29:31-05:002014-12-26T23:29:31-05:00LTC Private RallyPoint Member412535<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>How many fanatics will react before they site the source?
