People from 3rd world countries sending us friend requests on facebook because they "support the military"

I got a friend request from some guy who says hes from Serbia, and he sent me a couple pictures of himself wearing ACU's, no name plate but he did have a unit patch, and a US Army plate, is there anything i should do besides block him?

You may need to discuss this or at least notify your chain of command and S2. It's just better to be proactive in a situation such as this, that way no one can say that you didn't disclose the contact request.

Might sound harsh but I believe you should also report it to Facebook SPC(P) Private RallyPoint Member

You could report it to counter intelligence and let them decide if the guy is legit or if he is a bad guy. I know when I was working that region of the world the interpreters who were mostly local nationals wore then BDUs so this guy may be an interpreter. However, I would error on the side of caution and not friend him.

Block and report, especially if you have TS or SCI access.

Change your privacy setting so that only "friends of friends" an send you requests etc.

Even on here I see members from countries worse than that as Civilian supporter. I look at their profiles and they are contacts with other Civilian supporters from countries that shall remain nameless. We might need our own S-2 shop.

I have a strict policy on FB friend requests. If I don't know someone, or if I haven't had some contact with that person, I won't approve. If there are no friends in common, it's an automatic no.
