Permissive TDY in conjunction with PCS leave to Korea? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/permissive-tdy-in-conjunction-with-pcs-leave-to-korea <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am PCSing to Korea in JAN and trying to work my PCS leave. I am wanting to do PTDY in conjunction with the leave. Has anyone done that with a move to Korea or OCONUS PCS in general? I know normally you have to sign in at housing, but I thought I heard that&#39;s changed now? Just curious of other people&#39;s experience with it. Most are going to Camp Hump. Is your PTDY for “house hunting” purposes? The biggest issue that I foresee with your PCS to Korea is whether you will be authorized off-base housing. In my past experience in Korea, Camp Walker 2015-2017, as a command sponsored E7 I wasn’t authorized off-base housing because of the on-base housing availability- and subsequently was not authorized PTDY. If I recall correctly, you must sign into housing first and then they will present you the available options - and authorize your PTDY if warranted. Hope this helps. 1SG Private RallyPoint Member Sun, 07 Oct 2018 10:56:08 -0400 2018-10-07T10:56:08-04:00 Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 14 at 2018 10:20 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/permissive-tdy-in-conjunction-with-pcs-leave-to-korea?n=4046334&urlhash=4046334 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>CH has been building up, there&#39;s adequate housing for families on the installation so your PTDY most likely won&#39;t be necessary. I would still ask your sponsor. If you&#39;re going unaccompanied on an &quot; All Others or Dependent Restricted Tour&quot; then you&#39;ll be in the barracks as a SSG. <br /><br />Good luck with your move! If you fly Patriot Express, as soon as you arrive you will be bused to Camp Humphreys for inprocessing. If you fly commercial, at Incheon Airport there is an 8th Army desk you should report to for transportation to Camp Humphreys for inprocessing. During inprocessing, you will be instructed to go to Housing for an in brief (you must have this brief before you are allowed to sign a lease). At Housing you will find out if you will live on or off post. If you find you will be living off post, Housing will give you a realtor list. You will need to contact realtors to look at apartments, villas or houses. The realtors will only show you places within your OHA. You will have time in the evenings and weekends to look for Housing while you are at inprocessing and when you arrive at your unit. The process is one step easier now. SFC Private RallyPoint Member Mon, 15 Oct 2018 10:51:28 -0400 2018-10-15T10:51:28-04:00 2018-10-06T16:33:04-04:00
