PHA and Disability rating?

I was rated by VA recently. I'm still a reservist. The new PHA system asks for VA rating and reasons. I have 16 years total with active and reserve time. I don't want to be kicked out before 20.
Will this set off alarms at medical to have me referred for discharge?

Notice I am a CPL....I had 16 good years...3 Active duty over a span of 30 years 1974 to 2004 ...Army...Guard...AirForce Reserve...USMC and USMCR...they kicked me to the curb....with Nada....I had to fight every inch of the way...0 to 194% VA math...0 to 40% to 20% retirement...they took 20% away so as to not pay me retirement from 2004 to 2008...it sets off alarms...but there are a lot more disabled now then back in 2004....don't trust anyone....you didn't say your percentage...

PS...I was due to pick up SGT and was 2 years into a 8 year contract.

So you got a VA rating while in service and they kicked you out with severance or medical discharge? What were you rated when they discharged you? Also did you go through a PDES process to assess fit or unfit status.

It depends on your percentage and what you're rated for. I know a couple people that are still serving in the NG with 90% disability. I know probably 100+ soldiers that have some level of rating that are still serving. It could set off further evaluation and a med board process. With that much TIS, the worst case would be that you're medically retired and get to start drawing retirement pay immediately.

Hey I was rated 50% overall hand, knees, depression. 17yrs in as of now. I was rated 9 months ago.
I was not referred for discharge or severance. I'm drilling as reservesit as normal. But I get a reduced VA payment because of drill pay.

PHA are just an evaluation to see if you need any references for additional care, and they also collect statistical information to look for correlation and trends across services, MOS's, locations, etc. You can have a disability rating and be a Reservist, it's pretty common. A PHA can't refer you to a med board, only a provider can do that.

To put everyone at ease. I was rated 50%. I Have done 2 PHAs since then, it even asked what I was rated on PHA paperwork. No alarm bells went off, CO/XO have signed my yearly form with no issues never asked about what health problems were. And I have gone AD for short periods of time with no admin issues.
