Sgt Private RallyPoint Member I see what is written. But, the human factors that are involved us the "loss of life" and "permanent disabilities", so one the one hand I think the active military is awe inspired by the shoring up of weaknesses. On the other hand, I can't imagine that any (maybe a few) are accepting that what comes next may be much boots on the ground Carnage. Yes, the US is gearing up for some nasty fire fights, but that means the hotter the battle the more die.

You need to consider National Guard and Reserve units also. They also are being upgraded

Very good article.
I think most will recall how the Milt. was allowed to be depleted to the point planes, for example, were grounded due to the lack of spare parts. I guess Obama did not care that much about Nat'l. Defense or meeting our other defense commitments overseas.

It is a challenge to keep resourcing the current wars and global war on terror; and preparing for peer militaries. If countries have the budget they will work on new weapons systems based on new techonogy and doctrine. The China has no wars to fight. It will focus its military and economic strength to increase their global footprint. IMO in this regard, we are playing catch up. If I was Russia and China I would support terrorism and insurgencies who are in conflict with us. We will expend vast resources fighting them.

I was in during Trumps first 3 years in office. Never did I hear anything bad said about him. Even in private conversations.
