Post GI Bill 9/11 Trouble

I was in School when I called up for school for the Air Guard. I was attending school on the GI Bill and had to drop classes because of my orders.

Been Fighting the VA over this for over 6 months now.

Anyone had an experience like this?

I had the same issue, was in school and then blammo 9-11. I had to fight with my school to get it right with the VA. It took awhile, but they righted it.

"oh yeah, I am trying to pull a fast one by getting deployed, that's it, you figured me out"

Good luck-talk with your school, they should fix it.

I had an issue after I was in a motorcycle wreck the last week classes could be dropped. By the time I got out of the hospitol it was too late. My dr. wrote a letter explains that I wasn't able to attend school. I sent that and an apeal form DA#? A few months later they informed me I didn't have to repay the money to the VA. I did lose a semester of school form my GI bill though. Good luck Jack

Find a Veterans Service Organization and talk to their Service Officer. You have limited time to deal with this. If you can't find a Service Officer - contact me here.

School basically left me out to dry. Not very happy with the whole situation. They changed my enrollment status 3 times in 6 months for the same semester. I went from owing 4k to 300$ to 3k. I am currently fighting my way through all the paperwork. Getting in contact with the VA or just asking a simple question is painful. And I was told by the VA they can't advise me on how to correct this.

The VA has been more helpful than the school.
