McClellan. Ensuring that veterans who suffer from deteriorating health conditions consistent with exposure to Polychlorinated Biphenyl (PCB) are able to obtain the care and benefits they need has been a top priority for Veterans Service Organizations. This announcement is a step toward recognizing that these veterans may have long-lasting health effects that are a direct result of their service at Fort McClellan. Numerous Facebook groups are dedicated to this subject and those who were exposed.

A great place to start is the Facebook group called The Fort McClellan Health Registry Act located at https://www.facebook.com/groups/ [login to see] 8405/
Like many others it is a closed group. Just ask to join and the Admin will respond.

Another is the Ft. McClellan Toxic Exposure Right To Know at https://www.facebook.com/FtMcClellanALToxicExposureRightToKnow

The VA website reports possible exposure to the following:

Radioactive compounds (cesium-137 and cobalt-60)
Chemical warfare agents (mustard gas and nerve agents)
Airborne polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) from the Monsanto plant in the neighboring town.

HOWEVER this is just a small listing of the toxic soup present on the post. CBS 60 Minutes once called McClellan the most toxic place on earth.

If you EVER spent ANY time at Fort McClellan Alabama you owe it to yourself to do further research. You may NOT be the only one affected in your family. Many of these toxins cause changes to DNA which is passed along to your children. Veterans have been working hard for years to bring this to light.

If you're a FORT MAC VET it's time to educate yourself because although they took a step in the right direction, the VA is very slow to the subject.

Log into Facebook | Facebook

Log into Facebook to start sharing and connecting with your friends, family, and people you know.

SPC Thomas Grassia Fri, 08 May 2015 08:37:37 -0400 2015-05-08T08:37:37-04:00 Response by PO1 William "Chip" Nagel made May 9 at 2015 2:16 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/potential-exposure-at-fort-mcclellan-pcb-lets-get-the-word-out-to-our-brothers-and-sisters?n=655508&urlhash=655508

Share and share alike on all Social Media. My investigation has revealed that on Nov 7, 2002, CBS 60 Minutes aired an episode entitled "Toxic Secret" where Dr. David Carpenter, professor of environmental health at the State University of New York, Albany, speaking of the adjacent town of Anniston AL stated ". . . there's no question this is the most contaminated site in the U.S."

I apologize for the error and have corrected and fully sourced the material on the website I created dedicated to my fellow Fort McClellan veterans located at: http://TheFortMacVets.org.
