I emailed ahead to find out if that was acceptable, as I am not about to send out my personal information, either. The email I received back said that was a perfectly acceptable format, and so I did, and my account was 'verified'. As well, if one of your former battle buddies is already on and verified, he or she can 'endorse' your credibility.

Response by SGT James P. I got my friend from my one ship to confirm I was a vet. Some other sites let everyone in and the result is a huge amount of spam, tends to turn people off. The DoD ID number is on both CAC and rapids cards.
