I'll pass. <br></div><div><br></div>Armed with that information, they could "Identity Theft" the hell out of you.<br><br>I love the site design and features, but this verification process is not 'ok'.

I emailed a picture of the front of my VA card for verification - showing nothing more than my face and name. I emailed ahead to find out if that was acceptable, as I am not about to send out my personal information, either. The email I received back said that was a perfectly acceptable format, and so I did, and my account was 'verified'. As well, if one of your former battle buddies is already on and verified, he or she can 'endorse' your credibility.

There's other verification methods. I got my friend from my one ship to confirm I was a vet. Some other sites let everyone in and the result is a huge amount of spam, tends to turn people off.

I keep a copy of my DD214 stored on a flash drive with my SSN and other PII stuff blacked out that I than use for things like this. But I can see your point, you just never know.

Why not utilize the DoD ID number instead - that way all PII remains where it should. The DoD ID number is on both CAC and rapids cards. Just a thought.
