We go through a transitional period where we evaluate the lessons learned from the last conflict and try to make certain changes to be prepared for the next conflict. As far as over-sensitivity and issues of standards or the integration of females into combat arms roles, we will only know how things go when and if the forces of today have to put their training to use in combat.
