SPC Mike Johnson 5959984

I am 70% through the VA with 50% being ptsd, I got discharged the end of 2011 with an honorable discharge & re code 3(jfv).

Was wondering how hard it would be to get back in, I'd like to go to ranger bat. I understand my VA benefits will go away but my concern is the VA documentation.

When I got out a couple friends of mine had killed themselves because of how they got out, the army was downsizing at the time & the leadership we had was pretty terrible to say the least. So I was pretty jaded about everything & didnt exactly have the nicest things to say about my experience & how I had been feeling. Feel like I was robbed of the experience I signed up for.

I just want to know if I try to re enlist, would these psych documents be looked at or be a consideration considered with giving me a chance to reenlist? Prior service enlistment with 70% VA rating? 2020-06-01T19:52:14-04:00 SPC Mike Johnson 5959984

I am 70% through the VA with 50% being ptsd, I got discharged the end of 2011 with an honorable discharge & re code 3(jfv).

Was wondering how hard it would be to get back in, I'd like to go to ranger bat. This is due to PTSD being classified as a behavioral/Mental illness. Its next to impossible for these kinds of issues to be waived to allow enlistment. I don't think that juice is worth the squeeze. I would recommend going a new route entirely. I would suggest wrapping up your bachelors and going into one of the several agencies. FBI, DSS, ATF, US Marshal, respective investigative service of each Military branch, etc

Prior Service Military are welcomed with open arms, you still get to serve and you still get to have camaraderie. Plus you will be able to maintain your VA status without issue.
