You can be given a permanent profile p3 that triggers a medical board without any previous profiles, but that is rare. If the condition is permanent in nature and bad enough you can skip the temporary profiles and go straight to permanent. However, this is generally not the case as doctors like to treat and control conditions. There is always more to the story with medical fitness issues though. But heard of AKO- one can track their Medical Readiness there!
Or the Board the SM is actually going through is not a Medical Retention board but an Administrative Board.
Trust me, a lot of confused SM are out there during MEBs. It’s either a) how can I stay in? b) how can I get “Medical Retirement” and make $7K /month (milk it) for being in service for 2 yrs?
(Option b is a mermaid- fantasy) Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Nov 19 at 2018 1:22 AM 2018-11-19T01:22:11-05:00 2018-11-19T01:22:11-05:00 2016-05-08T20:54:08-04:00
