Question for other self employed Veterans

I'm about to finish up my apprenticeship as a farrier in Janiary and go out on my own. I have a family I have to support and struggling with what I should do. My biggest problem is I burned alot of employment bridges when I got out because i was mentally not ready. So how do I go about rectifying that. This would be easier if I was was signel I would just sleep in my car and eat Ramen but now I have a family to support.

Well the only way to rectify this, is by telling them the reason why you did what you did. The truth always paves the way to achieving greatness. Remember your core values and the last sentence of the sailors creed. Use them as a guide and you should be fine.

My Farrier drives a new truck with a rolling forge trailer behind it. He appears to be doing pretty well. He is the only Farrier we have had in 13 years that a) returns a phone call and b) shows up when he says he will. If you can do those two things and not scratch your crotch in front of the kids you should do well. Just get you name out there and and follow "a" and "b".
