Question of ethics https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/question-of-ethics

Lately like many of you, I've been reading about former Navy SEAL Robert ONeill and his promoting his book and actions in the mission to get Bin Laden. Like all of us, the SEALS have a code of honor that they follow. Our NCO creed says itself that we will not use our position for personal gain. Mr. ONeill's actions have upset many with the SOCOM community. I'm curious to know your thoughts. He will, like most that do these kinds of things, have their back turned to him and become persona non-grata at SOF/SEAL events. That's supposed to be against the law and punishable. I remember talk of legal action against the author of "No Easy Day," the book about the Bin Laden raid. Ah, I Googled the book and found this story. It looks like he's having some problems related to writing the book:

http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2014/11/05/former-navy-seal-who-wrote-book-on-bin-laden-raid-accuses-lawyers-of-ruining-reputation/

Former Navy SEAL Who Wrote Book On Bin Laden Raid Accuses Lawyers Of Ruining Reputation

A former Navy SEAL who wrote a book describing the raid that killed Osama bin Laden in 2011 sued his former lawyers Wednesday for malpractice.

CW5 Private RallyPoint Member Sat, 08 Nov 2014 17:30:23 -0500 2014-11-08T17:30:23-05:00 2014-11-08T17:04:02-05:00
