Almost all the time. There are days you come in and there is no work to be done and you go home right away. Depends also if you’re in a flight company or a line maintenance company or a maintenance battalion. Daily life is good if you’re a good worker and achieving is very easy. I didn’t work on a single mechanical thing in the outside and I am now after 3 years in this MOS one of the more proactive 15T in my company with the amount of experience I’ve accrued. AIT is very Barney style and styler easy. As I said I never worked with mechanical things other than a skateboard before I joined and even in AIT they had to explain every single tool to me and the best ways to use them. You’ll learn technique throughout your progression in the field but I see it as a really good job to climb quickly. The promotions for 15T are always so easy to achieve if that’s what you choose to do.
