Questions regarding Officer Candidate School? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/questions-regarding-officer-candidate-school

I have a few questions regarding OCS

I’m currently on assignment to Korea in January. I have 3 more classes and my bachelors degree will be complete. I will be complete by December. Will I have to stay in Korea a year before I drop an OCS packet?

What is the age limit for OCS? I’m currently 31 and will be 32 in September.

I currently have a 107GT score and I know I need a 110. The reason I’m asking about spending a year in Korea is due to me not being able to commit to GT improvement class due to frequent travel. I ask about active federal service, because that is what got me kicked back. You can drop your OCS packet while you're in Korea and they will schedule you from there if you get picked up. Looking at other post, you are going to bump up against that 10 year rule, which is waiverable. How readily anymore I don't know since I've been out of that officer loop for a long time. The other thing you will bump into is that it requires 10 years of service as an Officer to collect that retirement. If you end up as 11/12 years enlisted and 8 as an officer, your will retire at your top three enlisted years at the base for your pay. Rank through Captain isn't automatic, but you have to have screwed up in my day not to make O3, which should put you over that 10 mark.
If you made SFC in 10 years, someone thought pretty highly of you. Good luck. CPT Lawrence Cable Thu, 20 Jun 2019 09:16:28 -0400 2019-06-20T09:16:28-04:00 2019-06-15T16:47:51-04:00
