<p>Who in RP is your favorite person when it come's to posting threads and why?</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>For those who have been here a while or maybe long enough, you came across someone who stands out, who then is your favorite person in RP and why.</p><p>Please put them here and lets make them aware of it.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>My personal response is: </p><p>Major Mark W. Burns, because when he creates a thread, he takes responsibility for it and comments on every post as well as validates every one in that thread. Major Burns, takes command of his threads and that is something I have not seen in to many people here. Most of all his threads show a sense of motivation and great reading</p><p>----------------------------------------------------------------------------------</p><p>Revision 1:</p><p>Ok, I'm going to resurrect this thread because since it was written, I find that I need to add a few more SM to this list.</p><p>Addition to my list are:</p><p>1. SFC Baber: Whom as a senior NCO shows extraordinary knowledge and positive responses.</p><p>2. SSG Olson: another NCO whom also displays extraordinary knowledge and adds a wonderful sense of humor that is often needed here in RP.</p><p>3. SSG Woods: Whom when creating a thread as an NCO makes the thread exciting and enjoyable to be a participant of.</p><p>--------------------------------------------------------------------------------</p><p>Revision 2:</p><p>In addition to those whom are listed above, the following are now added to my personal list:</p><p>1. 1st Sgt. Michael Blount: Whom is willing to help out veterans in need of work,</p><p>is very supportive of SM's here in RP and sets the example for many here in RP.</p><p>2. SSG Burns: Whom for those that know him kind of find that RP can not the same with out him, his posts offer challenges that can make any one think.</p><p>3. Maj. Joseph Parker, CPT (Chaplin) Heather Parker, 1LT Sandy Annala : 3 of my favorite officers, whom well knowledge, highly supportive in many topics and set the perfect example for us to follow.</p><p>4. PFC Logan Mullins: An Enlisted member whom if I were in the military today I would seek to get him promoted to SP4 or CPL. </p><p>also included is SPC Thundercloud: A very special SM whom someday will make a great leader.   </p>

Davis both post something contrary to what I believe or think, I immediately read deeper into what they say. As a perfect mixture of soft and tough, they have yet to steer me wrong. <div><br></div><div>SSG Williams, SSG Hasbun, SSG G and SSG Burns bring a great mixture of common sense and old Army and use sarcasm which is a language lost on many. (even though SSG Williams doesn't like being endorsed lol)</div><div><br></div><div>SSG Broadbent, MSG Cunningham, MAJ Miller and CH Davis have inspired me to be more professional and "hard core". </div><div><br></div><div>SFC Baber, SFC Gates, CH Davis, MSG Stankovich: while they maintain their sense of humor, they are gentle with reproach and more concerned about educating and truly molding leaders for tomorrow than they are with just sounding "right". </div><div><br></div><div>PFC Mullins and SPC Thundercloud are great reminders that there is hope for our future leaders. </div><div><br></div><div>MAJ Bartlette, MAJ Parker and SFC Swartz...well they are funny and usually right in everything they say. </div><div><br></div><div>CPL Fittizzi, SGT Blackburn and SGT Cox always contribute concrete arguments which get my wheels turning, regardless if I agree. </div><div><br></div><div>Of course there are more but I have church in the morning so I gotta go to bed. My favorite person, is whoever is willing to say what they mean, and mean what they say. I cant stand seeing people play politics or play nice (here or in person) because they want to LOOK like they are saying what people might deem appropriate. You cant get anything fixed or solve any problems by covering them up with kindness. Yeah, I know, you have to talk nice to people some times in certain situations blah blah. But when you are debating something, just say it. Sugar coating only works with baking. ;+)  There are some people in here that say what needs to be said and it gets their point across, as well as there being a bunch of people that really appear as though they are running for office. <br>

<p>I like humor and appreciate leaders who are more straight-forward.   If we manage our emotions appropriately we show that control can be friendly and only used when there is no other option.</p><p><br></p><p>I used to think philosophy was kind of pointless,  until I began studying it.   The tools of a good manager and leader have to incorporate both rather seamlessly.</p><p><br></p><p>We have some senior officers who have the talent to make people feel good and in so doing,  they instill confidence and pride and are easy to smile.     The old saying is,  that you can get more bees with honey and this is almost invariably true.</p><p><br></p><p>That is why I asked the question about the younger being able to teach new things to old school veterans.   Retired veterans and veterans in general is a good support mechanism for active duty personnel.   </p><p><br></p><p>This forum is energetic,  open-minded and basically positive.   I think the public should know that we are educated and well-rounded.   That more than anything else will help our fellow veterans and active duty personnel.   Oh and the Guard and Reserve.</p><p><br></p><p>I very much appreciate the kind words and I would like to add Lt Col Rojas and our Brigadier General who feels it  is not a waste of time to talk with our military people here.     We have chaplains and religious and even atheists but the respect level is reflected how we treat each other from top to bottom and bottom to top.   I enjoy the younger troops and for those females who make this forum excellent.</p><p><br></p><p>One SFC Baez (sp,  please forgive me) had some very stern words in a thread and yet later showed her respect for that individual and that is one of the most amazing examples of leadership that I have seen here.   It is not just a man's world as these NCOs have proven.   </p>

My favorite would be first, someone that has sound judgement and bases their belief on logic.  Second, someone that is respectful to others while defending their position with cogent, thought provoking arguments.  <div>The most respected person in my book is one who does not disrespect others because their position may be different, and will shake hands as they walk away.</div>

<p>(1) MAJ Mark Burns is a very insightful, intelligent, gregarious, and knowledgeable writer who, in my opinion, has contributed immeasurably to this site. I deeply respect not only his opinions, but also his very capable contributions which are quite accurate in their content and professional in their presentation.</p><p><br></p><p>(2) 1LT Sandy Annala is smarter than any 10 of us and always gets right to the heart of the matter; and she's correct 99.9% of the time (leaving 0.1% for humility's sake).</p><p><br></p><p>(3) SSG Vickie Woods has an incredible amount of common sense, usually doused with a pleasant degree of humor that always makes her posts an enjoyable read. </p><p><br></p><p>(4) CPT (Chaplain) Heather Davis is personally enjoyable for me to read because I have seen a great deal of professional growth in her postings since she joined RP. </p><p><br></p><p>(5) There are a number of young junior enlisted whose posts I really enjoy reading. I can't pick one! I see daily on RP why I love the Army! There are a whole lot of professional Soldiers, Airmen, Marines, Sailors and Veterans on here that offer great advice and counsel on questions asked. Although some get a little aggressive - most just love their profession! (I'll replace aggressive...with passionate)

The professionalism displayed by most of the people on this site is unbelievable!  There are so many great Individuals who make RP a great place to visit and learn.  All of you have been great and influenced me so much on the short time I have been a member that it is unreal.  Major Burns for the same reasons as stated by SSG Pabon.  PO Hicks as a fellow Squid and she inspires me to keep returning to here and working with people.  SSG Woods because of her infectious attitude of wise ass and serious love of her fellow service member - there is a serious side there, just don't expect to get it if you are not looking for a real answer.  MCPO Robert Young, a Coastie who thinks like a Sailor and is not afraid to express his opinion.<div><br></div><div>there are so many more that I know I am forgetting them.  I have left a couple off because they would want me to do so.  All of the people on this site are Professionals and I respect your opinions.  Thanks for putting up with mine.</div>

I have to say that I appreciate the props I have received by a few on this thread and would like to say I feel everyone that has posted here and many others are also great assets to RP, as long as the professionalism and mutual respect is able to be retained whether it is by AD, veteran or retiree, we all enjoy cavorting and interacting here on a regular basis.

The humor aspect also allows for the lighter aspect of the reality that many endure daily within their respective jobs, and we all have given our knowledge and mentorship in some form or another whether it be senior to junior or junior active to us old souls that have gone to pasture from our military careers. IT is all done with respect and kindness and sometimes a little kick in the butt when needed or warranted.

UPDATE: I changed title to RallyPoint Hall Of Fame to give it, its real meaning. I don't need thumbs up, what would be nice is if you new or older members being here for as long as you have can add some SM or Veterans you find worth being recognized by you. I just noticed even though I commented I forgot to add my list, so here it is in no particular order, but it does include many who I feel represent the old and the new school for the military that are able to provide the best and greatest guidance and compassion and structure all at the same time while mentoring and learning as well as we all must do on a daily basis:

MAJ Burns-The funniest AF Officer and mentor I have ever encountered next to my father
CPT (CH) Davis-My Chaplain as well, whom I consider the best I have met next to another who was my favorite while active MAJ (CH) Neuman
1LT Sandy Annala-whose compassion rises above any and everything else we all deal with to bring things back to a normal level for all to emulate and endear
CSM Maynard-While stern when he needs to be, he also takes the time to enlighten and give great guidance to all, along with general concern as well
1SG Blount-who goes out of his way to help and encourage AD SMs and veterans alike in any way he can
MSG Quick-who although we haven't seen much of lately has gone above and beyond in trying to mentor an guide SMs while also being compassionate and concerned about their needs to their questions as well
SFC Gates-who like myself is old school NCO doesn't sugarcoat the truth or facts, but also gives it to you straight with tact and respect
SSG Burns-what can I say but RP would not be the same w/o him, he covers every angle you could possibly think of for a question, debate or rebuttal, he reminds me so much of myself when I was a young E5 spreading my wings as an NCO looking forward
SSG Vickie Woods-the epitome of strength and compassion of a junior NCO that has a long and successful career ahead of her
SSG Pabon-One of the best of the veterans that seeks out the most for all to learn and garner support for any and all veterans and SMs alike
SSGT Olson-The most passionate when it comes to our predecessors and what they have meant for and done for all of us during their time in service, keeps us abreast of our losses of our fallen brethren from our past
and we also have some superb future leaders that are great contributors to the community as well:
SPC Thundercloud-She is wise beyond her years and experience, will be a great leader within the near future
SPC Smith-He is another that is very wise and knowledgeable, while he will debate emphatically, he does it respectfully and tactfully to the best extent possible
PFC Mullins-He is a sponge in wanting to learn and garner as much knowledge he can from every NCO/Officer leader here on RP that he can, I see a long and productive future for him

I know this is long and drawn out, but I wanted to do it proper to everyone that I mentioned as they deserved some type of definition behind my choice instead of just a list of names, because each of them are more to me and the RP community than that, to each and all thank you for your service and to what you bring to this community and the family that many of us feel we have become.

Round 3, since the start of this thread 4 months ago many have been nominated and entered in the Hall Of Fame.

Some are new to RP and this gives you a chance to put your favorite SM, Officer, Warrant Officer into the Hall Of Fame.

, Major Petrarca has been wonderful leader and his posts have been the kind that up lifts the sprite with a wonderful humor that can make many laugh, and his very helpful and thoughtful responses to help others with there questions.

First off, I want everyone to know that by and large, I enjoy most everyone on this forum. I've only encountered a small handful of morons, malcontents, and reprobates since joining RP; most of whom who have since left the island. The vast majority of you are simply flat-out amazing people and I enjoy the time I get to spend with you here on the boards. My Hall of Fame is not a popularity contest. TSgt Joshua Copeland - A voice of reason and sound guidance.
CMSgt Private RallyPoint Member - How can you ever go wrong when you can get superior insight from a Senior NCO served with a NJ/ Irish sense of humor???
CPT Private RallyPoint Member - A true friend and gentleman.
CPT Ahmed Faried - An amazing and talented Officer; CPT Faried has always been patient and gracious when I've had questions on racial issues and Army service.
CH (CPT) Heather Davis - An amazing woman of faith who is unafraid to stand for what is morally right and even when others are ridiculing her for it.
LTC Yinon Weiss - Without whom none of this would have been possible!
LTC Stephen C. - A knowledgeable professional!
COL Charles Williams - A consumate professional; always willing to offer insight and advice. This is one MP leader I regret not having the opportunity to work for!
