Re-upped for 6 years, trying to finish on one post. What is likely to happen? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/re-upped-for-6-years-trying-to-finish-on-one-post-what-is-likely-to-happen <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Briefly, I reupped for 6 years in Jan 2022. My new ETS is Jan 2028 which makes my window Jan 2027...<br /><br />If i were to come down on orders PCS, Drill, Rec, Etc. prior to that (we all know I will. Probably early 2025.) Can I sign a DEC statement that far out? Ive only seen them used within the reenlistment window... Since ill still be close to 2 years away from it, can I still decline those orders and sign a DEC all the same.? Thu, 16 Feb 2023 11:25:51 -0500 Re-upped for 6 years, trying to finish on one post. HRC want to broaden your education and experience, Don&#39;t worry about signing anything till it actually comes up/ SGM Bill Frazer Thu, 16 Feb 2023 12:38:15 -0500 2023-02-16T12:38:15-05:00 Response by CSM Darieus ZaGara made Feb 17 at 2023 8:18 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/re-upped-for-6-years-trying-to-finish-on-one-post-what-is-likely-to-happen?n=8138140&urlhash=8138140 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>SGM Frazer is on it. As for a Dec statement that isn’t going t happen as you have way too much time remaining on your current enlistment. <br /><br />Not sure why you reenlisted while not being willing to support the needs of the military. You hold up your end of the bargain by service, they hold up theirs with pay and benefits and the opportunity of a lifetime. Soldier up’s do enjoy the experience. If you meet the SRR for an assignment you will proceed to those orders. If not, you must reenlist or decline to reenlist. The SRR for Drill is two years, the SRR for recruiting is three years SFC Private RallyPoint Member Fri, 17 Feb 2023 11:05:43 -0500 2023-02-17T11:05:43-05:00 Response by MAJ Ronnie Reams made Feb 17 at 2023 1:55 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/re-upped-for-6-years-trying-to-finish-on-one-post-what-is-likely-to-happen?n=8138719&urlhash=8138719 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>This may not work now days, but when I was an EM and you wanted to homestead, or leave for that matter, you made friends with the NCOIC of the post levy section. NCO club, a good place to get him lubricated and explain what you want. So when a levy comes down for your rank and MOS, he skips over you. If you want to go, he plugs you into a levy for where you want to go. MAJ Ronnie Reams Fri, 17 Feb 2023 13:55:04 -0500 2023-02-17T13:55:04-05:00 2023-02-16T11:25:51-05:00
