RE4 Review board to RE3?

Short.
I received an Uncharacterized RE-4 from the US Army for AWOL but the CO could have given me a RE3 or 4. What's the chances of using that argument to get it to a RE3 at a review board?

Long.
In 2006 at AIT my fience was in a car wreck while pregnant. I asked my Drill Sergeant for emergency leave and he told me the US Army didn't recognize "Girlfriends" and I couldn't prove the child was mine anyway. After protesting he smoked me for stupid questions.
I called her that night and went AWOL to see her.

I left October 23rd and knowing my ass was in a sling returned to my unit November 23rd with intent to take my punishment and return to training. Unfortunately I hadn't realized that there was 31 days in October and was back the 31st day.

I was sent to Ft Sill and the Ft Froze over and closes for snow. Personnel told us if we wanted to get through this faster we had to dig the fort out which we did and it re-opened to a very pissed off Major who gave all of us RE-4's

I know RE-3 isn't much better but it's a chance of Enlistment vs a barment.

Why would the army take another chance on enlisting you again? Your past actions have shown you lack maturity and judgement.

The review will determine whether an error occurred, that's it.
If the only option available to the deciding official was RE 3, but that official assigned RE 4, it would be changed.
If there was an option for either RE 3 or RE 4, and no specific standard for assignment of a 3 versus 4, then there would be no error and it would remain the same.
Police reports won't help. Fiance statements won't help.
You made a significant poor decision. Focus on overcoming it, and not letting it define you or your future.
