While my unit learned many things during this rotation we got our sixes handed to us by Geronimo.</div><div><br></div><div>We had perimeter security but the entire parent unit picked a linear layout in the wood line which strung us out and forced us to overcommit on force protection.</div><div><br></div><div>You know it is rough when the 1SG, 2 PLT SGTs and a Soldier are out laying triple strand c-wire because they are the only available Soldiers.</div><div><br></div><div>I must say it was a wake up call to my Soldiers and very interesting to hear them say "Top - we are aviation and not Infantry".
