Reclass 31E what's it like? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/reclass-31e-what-s-it-like <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am an E-5 P and currently a 92F working with fuel. I chose to reclass to this MOS because it's something I'm very interested in doing and the career progression is also a plus. I'm just looking for anyone who serves or has served in this mos to give me a run down. My AIT is in NOV 2014 and I am heading to Leavenworth after that since it's now on my ERB. So any info would be great thanks and I will be heading myself no family. However, I've known individuals who take that experience and ETS and land them a job in the federal penal system and can still retire because you are still part of the federal government. I can't tell you anything about your AIT, however, I did just return from spending 3 weeks at Ft. Leavenworth's Army Management Staff College. If you've never been I have to say it is a small but a beautiful post. The city of Leavenworth reminds me of stepping back in time about 40-50 years in appearence. It's about 45 minute drive to Kansas City, which of course you can find and do anything from Maor League Baseball (Royals), NASCAR to the National WW1 Musesum to the Argosy Casino. There is a great night-life as well. The Army's maximum security prison is at Ft. Leavenworth as well. Good luck with your New MOS and AIT and hope you enjoy your assignment. I know I would not mind going there myself. Good luck. 1SG Private RallyPoint Member Sat, 16 Aug 2014 20:04:18 -0400 2014-08-16T20:04:18-04:00 Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 17 at 2014 6:31 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/reclass-31e-what-s-it-like?n=207242&urlhash=207242 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>SGT, you are in for a different world. This is part Army and part civilian penal system. I've been doing this for the last 20 years and have enjoyed just about every minute. The retention posters used to say front line duty everyday as we at the USDB are the first line in custody and control of the most heinous offenders in the department of defense. The surrounding communities are beautiful and virtually crime free with good schools. If you more information please reach out. Out of my multiple MOS'S I have this one is a keeper. You will learn your different test (Aqua-glo) and milipore. Each unit is different, so don't forget the basics. Always stay fresh on your knowledge, and don't be scared to get out there and fuel. Always look out for your soldiers. I retired from a Sheriffs Department where we had about 300 inmates. After that I went AGR, went to Leavenworth for CGSC, then.....was medically retired when I completed the course. I didn&#39;t appreciate that part, although I liked the town and liked the mid-west after spending my life in the north east. <br />Hope it is working out for you. Corrections is a pretty good career field. You&#39;re set up for after the Army if you don&#39;t mind the work.
