This was a big mistake, I get to my unit and everyone hates it (including myself). I was told I could reclass after a year in with the approval of the commander. I would like to know what all goes into this and how to go about it. I’m looking at 27D and yes I have the scores for it. Speak with your company commander or field counselor about your desire to change your MOS.
2. Complete DA Form 4187. This form allows you to make personal requests based on your current needs. Be sure to select the “reclassification” option on the form. If there is a specific MOS you desire, indicate this on the form.
3. Submit the completed form to your company commander or field counselor. He will let you know whether your request will be honored. I'am sorry you made a mistake and so sorry everyone hates it. Maybe in JAG you can help bring charges and convictions against 11B's... might be fun and you can use your high scores and College to put those SOB's in their places. I know a 11B Veteran...he cuts himself with razor blades... I guess he made a mistake too. Well good luck on your new Army career...make sure you frame your Awards, certificates and proudly wear your Achievement medals. PS: my GCT was 126...with no higher then 9th grade math and English taken. If it is correct, I believe you should first correct whatever led to that, before you try to reclass. You, are not eligible to reclass. You are in an understrength MOS, so you will not be eligible for a voluntary reclass. When it comes time to re-enlist, depending upon the strength of your MOS, you may be able to select a different MOS.
The commander is not the approval Authority for reclass, it is HRC.
